Slated to ship January 1st, the LEGO Architecture New York City is priced at $59.99. Rather than give you monochrome bricks like the original Architecture Studio kit, though, this one supplies both shapes and colors that allow you to build replicas that should satisfy even more di scerning model builders. Granted, that’s barely enough to touch the amount of landmarks you can find in the Big Apple, but it should offer a nice start to anyone thinking of building a full-fledged New York City done up entirely in LEGOs. The LEGO Architecture New York City set contains all the pieces you need to build the Flatiron Building, Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty, all of them set atop a single 4 x 32 tiled base to create a skyline setting. So, yeah, like the real NYC, only better. Except, you know, you can fill it with cleaner, quieter streets, with nary a cockroach or rat in sight. That’s right, LEGO is releasing a set that lets you recreate some of the more famous elements of the New York skyline, allowing you to add a miniature version of the city to your LEGO creations. Fortunately, you don’t have to with the upcoming release of LEGO Architecture New York City. Good luck in getting a realistic likeness, though, considering some of the structures don’t exactly play nice with the contours of your typical LEGO brick. Outside, the castle is decorated with fireworks.Yes, you can try to build New York City’s skyline using LEGO pieces from scratch. Each room has references to Disney films and characters and there is even a secret turret for fans to discover a Disney time capsule with references to the 100-year history. Inside the castle is various rooms including a kitchen and dining room, a ballroom and bedroom. The set comes complete with eight minifigures, representing some of the Disney Princess characters and their male counterparts. The 4,837-piece features not only the castle building, but also references from 14 classic Disney films over the last 100 years, such as Steamboat Willie and Snow White (the first Disney Princess) to The Princess and the Frog and Moana. The new LEGO Disney Castle set is a homage of the iconic castle at the beginning of all Disney movies. The four complete murals will then be displayed at LEGO House in Billund from 23 August 2023.
